Panda bears!!

Panda bears sleeping, or what is the highlight of an otherwise
disappointing Ocean Park, the latter of which was hot, crowded, sticky
and exploitative. :(

Hong kong day 1

Man to dave's dad seems to be saying: You came to Hong Kong to do
WHAT?!?

Actually I lie, I have no idea what he's saying.

But the dim sum is great! :)

Personal reminder

Personal reminder to be nice to people, even when I don't feel like
it. Strangers included too.

The pen was given to me by a taxi driver because I rushed out of the
office and had forgotten to bring a pen along. (I actually had two in
my bag but just couldn't find it at that point in time.) so the taxi
driver very generously gave me his genting resort pen even though I
offered to pay for it twice.

I'm always taken by surprise when people do nice things or go out of
their way to help. Is it because I think too little of people? Or is
it because I might be to proud to ask for help?

I wonder.

NoToRape.com and other stuff

No To Rape

While I'm still on the blogging roll, have you signed the petition against marital rape yet? Because seriously, we're all human beings with individual autonomy over the use of our own bodies.

Just because you've said 'I do' doesn't mean you give up your right to control your body, but that's what marital rape goes against. Joie's #325 and I'm #374 in the 965 (and counting) signatures - and you can sign here.

And on another note, thanks Thio Li Ann (not!), for getting Singapore mentioned on one of my favourite blogs Feministe. Seriously, Jill tore her argument apart so brilliantly it makes me cringe to be associated with her just on nationality alone.

Worst part is that she thinks she's being oppressed. OPPRESHUN FAIL!

You & I

This duet by Wilco and Feist is so sweet it makes my insides mushy just listening to it. Somehow the song reminds me of 'First day of my life' by Bright Eyes, another song about the optimism at the start of the relationship, wondering where this would take you.

But for one, it's strange hearing a Wilco song that is so pared down. Jeff Tweedy is usually so reserved in interviews and his energy only exudes itself in the songs. And now it's strange that he's not his usual rock-and-roll self.

Stray cat #4

This cat can always be found hanging outside the Sichuan restaurant on Jalan Sultan road. Before I took this picture, a kid was trying to see if it would wake up if she stepped on it's tail.

The cat didn't even move an inch. Kinda like me when I'm sleeping.

(Also, doesn't this cat look like Rorschach from the Watchmen if he happened to be a cat? Scary.)

Stray cat #3

When I first saw this cat, it was in the middle if a carpark field
stalking an invisible prey.

Then after it heard me call his name, it turned around and ran towards
me and rubbed itself against my jeans. Trying to get a photo was hard
considering that it would not sto weaving in and out of my legs. In
the end I tore off a piece of my kong ba pao that I was eating (I hope
cats eat pork) for the cat.

Possibly the most affectionate cat ever..
