For those who don't know already, Dave's film '5films in an anthology of a Film a Month' is competing in this year's Singapore International Film Festival's Short Film Competition. Phew, that was a long sentence.
We have tickets booked for all three sold-out screenings (I'm only attending the first two, and Dave's watching the last one by himself), but I am interested to see what the other films are about. Judging from the trailer, Dave seems to be up against stiff competition.
(There's also the interview with Dave which I personally think is too verbose and tried to edit, only to have Dave complain that it would not sound like him anymore.)

Come on skinny love, just last the year
I recently discovered Bon Iver, despite reading a lot about Justin Vernon and how great his band was in 2008 when they released their album, For Emma, Forever Ago.
But his song, Skinny Love, is by far one of the songs that resonates the most on the album. It's a song you want to listen to just as your heart is breaking, your relationship is on its tethers and you're not sure if you should fall asleep or try and try again.

The resurrection ship
On the re-imagined episodes of Battlestar Galactica, the humanoid cylons have something known as the 'Resurrection Ship'. Upon a death of a cylon (chances are, they were killed by Starbuck, played by the awesome Kara Thrace), their consciousness and memories would be downloaded into new body on the resurrection ship.
This effectively meant that cylons, for the most part, did not have to fear death as they knew they would come back to resume their place in life.
I've been thinking about this since it's getting harder for me to remember memories and events of my yesteryear. While I can recall most events pretty accurately, I don't remember enough detail to write a autobiography in the future without having to embellish most of the content. This patchy memory can be blamed on several things - alcohol-fuelled binges, my lack of taking photos of just my general view that what's in the past should remain in the past.
Hopefully, this new blog should serve to change all that. (I locked my other personal blog, if you're wondering, and it's only accessible to David and Joie.) But for the most part, I just want to document all the things I have a interest in at the moment before they change again..
Moving on..
